Air North - Celebrating 35 Years
As we enter our 36th year of operation, I can't help but reflect on how far we have come. When Tom Wood and I started up with Cessna U206, C-GLIZ, in 1977, we never imagined that the company would fly Boeing 737 jet aircraft - nor that we would join forces with the Vuntut Development Corporation and the people of Old Crow - and grow to become such an important part of the Yukon economy.
We have seen many aviation companies come and go during our 35 years and I know that we have faced lots of challenges ourselves. We have always risen to those challenges, and the airline has grown with Yukoners.
In the last year alone, our Boeing 737s have covered 1.9 million miles - and on those flights, our staff have served 60,000 cookies. These figures are a measure of our success. That we've covered that distance is thanks to the dedication of our staff and shareholders - but in greatest part thanks to our loyal customers.
Going forward, we'll be celebrating our 35th Anniversary by thanking Yukoners for their support and carrying ever more people on Yukon's Airline.
