Whitehorse

Whitehorse, the Wilderness City

Today Whitehorse is a vibrant tiny City with every amenity of a cosmopolitan capital: Art galleries, theatres, trendy coffee shops serving fabulous treats and Yukon roasted fair trade coffee, gorgeous B&B's and smart hotels abound.

There are tons of activities to explore, perhaps new ones you've never tried before. Winter and summer Whitehorse has something for everyone, unique activities in a breathtaking setting.

Truly a Wilderness City, Whitehorse nestles on the banks of the Yukon River and many modern day explorers, and those of us who just like to gaze at the wilderness, while travelling in comfort by boat or RV, set off from here to tour the Yukon and Alaska.

Whitehorse has everything you need to enjoy a trip into the wilderness by canoe, RV, or car. Our many Wilderness Operators are ready to take you on guided trips or you can set off on your own to explore the many rivers, mountains or lakes that the Yukon has to offer.

You can book a stay at our fabulous lodges, find a guide and go fishing, enjoy the long summer days or come in the fall and winter and view the magical Aurora.

And Whitehorse is especially fun for a family! Its very hard to find a better place to have a holiday with children, we have everything they love: lakes to swim in, trolleys to take, little trains to ride, a huge Canada Games Centre with an Aquatic Centre and water slide, places to fish, and best of all lovely camping sites (and no need for a light in the summer, its always bright in your tent or RV). Our Hotsprings also offers a zip line and a rock-climbing wall plus great camping!

The outdoors may be why people come to Whitehorse but it's the hospitality of the people that our visitors remember. We're so very proud of our community that we love to share it with visitors from all over the World. Once you get on the Air North flight you'll immediately experience Yukon hospitality and know you made the right decision to come North and pay us a visit!
