As of 20 June, 2022, passengers are no longer required to show proof of vaccination in order to fly in Canada. In addition, as of 1 October, 2022, the Government of Canada lifted the requirement that passengers must wear masks on scheduled flights in Canada, and a health-related questionnaire will no longer be asked at the time of check-in.

Advisories and Policies

Prior to 1 October, 2022, all passengers were required under Transport Canada regulations to wear a non-medical mask or face covering. This requirement has been lifted, and passengers are no longer required to wear a mask inflight if they do not wish to do so—although the government does strongly recommend wearing a well-fitted, high quality mask during your travels.

Air North, Yukon’s Airline would like to encourage those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask, or those who have medical reason to do so, to continue wearing masks on-board our flights and in airports.

For those who wish to wear a mask, here is some useful advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada:

Based on guidance from the Government of Canada, if you have received a COVID-positive test result or have COVID-like symptoms, you should not travel.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Muscle aches

Change and Cancellation Fees in effect

As of 1 November, 2022, change and cancellation fees came back into effect for all fare classes for any changes or cancellations made on or after that date. Please refer to our Fare Classes for further information on the change and cancellation fees.

If you have an existing booking, you can check your itinerary to see which fare class you’ve purchased to determine what fees will apply for a change or cancellation.

If you have yet to book, and you believe you may need to change your date of travel or cancel after booking, we recommend purchasing an Optimum fare as it has the lowest change and cancellation fees.

Note that any modifications to existing itineraries must be made at least 24-hours prior to the scheduled departure.

Changes
  • Fare difference applies if the new booking is at a higher fare than the original fare purchased
  • If the new fare is lower than the original fare, even after the change fee is applied, the difference will not be refunded
Cancellations
  • Cancellations on bookings made via Air North’s website or call centre will be processed as customer credit for future travel
  • Cancellations on GDS bookings (via travel agents or online agencies) are not eligible for credit
  • Credit will be valid for use for up to one year from the original date of booking
