COVID-19 Travel Advisory for Old Crow

Updated 17 November 2021

Due to the recent increase of active COVID-19 cases in Yukon and the level of associated risk that currently exists for the community of Old Crow, Council of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation has made a new COVID-19 Emergency Declaration and Order under our Community Emergency Act setting out emergency measures (“VGFN COVID-19 Emergency Measures”) which shall take effect November 12, 2021 and remain in place for a period of 90 days unless terminated earlier or extended by further Order.

Under the VGFN COVID-19 Emergency Measures, all travel to or from Old Crow is strictly limited to essential travel by persons with the prior approval of Council. A person that is approved for essential travel to Old Crow by Council must also complete and sign this “Declaration for Entry to Old Crow” form and submit it along with a personal Self-isolation Plan to the Vuntut Gwitchin Government’s COVID-19 coordinator, Sherri Frost, either electronically in advance by e-mail at covidcoordinator@vgfn.net or directly upon arrival at the Old Crow airport. All VGFN COVID-19 Emergency Measures have the force of law under the Community Emergency Act.
