Air North, Yukon’s Airline, Launches Summer Schedule with New Non-Stop Routes and Expanded Connectivity Across the Yukon, Ontario and British Columbia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Whitehorse, Yukon — May 30, 2025 – Air North, Yukon’s Airline is proud to launch its 2025 summer schedule in early June, introducing exciting non-stop routes and enhanced connections across the Yukon, British Columbia, and Ontario. These updates mark another milestone as the airline approaches 50 years of service in Canada.

While seasonal service between Whitehorse, Yellowknife, and Toronto has been in place since 2022, Air North is excited to introduce its first-ever non-stop flights between Whitehorse (YXY) and Toronto (YYZ), launching June 12, 2025. These flights will operate every Thursday during the peak summer travel season, offering travellers a faster, more convenient way to connect between the Yukon and Canada’s largest city.

In addition to the new non-stop route, flights with a short stop in Yellowknife (YZF) will operate from June 3 to October 15, providing travellers from both the North and Ontario more opportunities to experience the midnight sun, vibrant festivals, and the stunning transition to fall.

The airline is also continuing its seasonal service to Ottawa (YOW), running two weekly flights via Yellowknife from June 14 to August 31, with an additional mid-July departure to meet summer travel demand. Furthermore, flights to Edmonton (YEG) and Calgary (YYC) are increased to daily service, and flights to Vancouver (YVR) rise to 25 times a week. As part of the summer schedule, departure times on these routes have been adjusted to better align with Air North’s interline partners, improving connectivity for passengers travelling beyond Alberta and B.C. to destinations across Canada and internationally.

“This route is more than just a new connection on the map, it’s a vital link that opens the Yukon to the rest of the world and brings the world closer to the Yukon,” said Benjamin Ryan, Chief Commercial Officer at Air North, Yukon’s Airline. “For business travellers, it means the ability to fly in comfort with the service, reliability, and Northern hospitality they’ve come to expect from us, while saving valuable time with more direct access to key markets.”

In addition to expanded service to Ontario, Air North is enhancing its popular year-round routes to Victoria, Kelowna, and Dawson City this summer. Flights to Victoria (YYJ) will operate five days a week beginning June 12, including non-stop service from Whitehorse on Fridays and Sundays, making weekend getaways and business travel even more convenient.

Kelowna (YLW) service continues daily, with increased frequency on Thursdays and Sundays, featuring twice-daily flights. All flights include a brief stop in Vancouver (YVR), aligning seamlessly with Air North’s robust daily service and offering convenient access to the Okanagan region.

Dawson City (YDA) remains a vital part of the airline’s northern network, with six-day-a-week service operated by the Boeing 737-500, complementing the existing daily ATR service and ensuring year-round access to the Klondike region.

“These schedule enhancements are about building flexibility and reliability for travellers, whether they’re heading out for business, planning a summer adventure, or simply exploring more of what Canada has to offer,” added Ryan. “We’re proud to serve communities big and small, and to continue making northern travel more accessible and enjoyable”.

With domestic travel continuing to grow in popularity across Canada, Air North’s summer schedule offers even more reasons to explore the North, and beyond, in comfort and with exceptional value. Travellers can bring everything they need with a generous baggage allowance, enjoy complimentary inflight meals, and look forward to the signature warm cookie served on board. It’s all part of the uniquely Northern welcome that sets Air North apart, with no added costs and no compromises on comfort.
