Air North, Yukon’s Airline issues a 2018 Customer Loyalty Credit

WHITEHORSE, YUKON – April 11, 2018 – Air North, Yukon’s Airline issues a Customer Loyalty Credit


On behalf of the Board of Directors of Air North, Yukon’s Airline we are pleased to announce that for the third consecutive year, we will be providing our valued customers with a $50 travel credit.

We developed the Customer Loyalty Credit (previously “Stakeholder Dividend”) as a way to recognize the integral role Yukoners have played in the growth and success of the airline over the years. “Air North operates in a unique environment in that our limited population is able to sustain and support its own airline” said Board Director Greg Charlie, who is also a member of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, which owns a 49 percent stake in the airline. “There is a special bond between Air North and the Yukon, one that is built on mutual support and reciprocity. We cherish this unique relationship and are pleased to share our success with those who have played a central role in achieving it.”

All Air North customers are eligible for this travel credit. The 2018 Customer Loyalty Credit will be automatically applied to members of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, Air North shareholders, employees, and all customers who have claimed the 2017 Stakeholder Dividend and travelled since. Those affected will receive an email from Air North confirming that the credit has been automatically applied.

All remaining customers can redeem the credit online by going to our website at and following the simple instructions. Once they’ve gone through this process, the $50 is automatically loaded into their account as a credit that can be applied to future purchases, including flight reservations and air passes. Any customers who do not use an online account can also redeem the dividend by calling in. The 2018 Customer Loyalty Credit cannot be combined with any previously issued stakeholder dividend and will expire January 31, 2019. The credit can be claimed until April 25, 2018.

This initiative speaks not only to the particular relationship between Air North and the Yukon, but more broadly to the benefits of choosing local goods and services instead of relying on outside sources to provide them.

When Yukoners choose to fly with us, they indirectly strengthen the local economy – they help us generate revenues to support the Yukon’s GDP, create jobs as we grow, and they help us maintain the quality, frequency, and affordability of our service. This in turn allows Yukoners to travel more often, providing a higher standard of living. In other words, when Air North succeeds, the Yukon benefits, and, to bring the relationship full circle, our success is largely thanks to strong local support. Every Yukoner is a stakeholder in our business in some way, and our philosophy is to share our success with those who have contributed to it. This Customer Loyalty Credit is our way of saying thank you to all Yukoners for choosing us to be their airline.

Instructions to Claim Your Air North, Yukon’s Airline Customer Loyalty Credit

The 2018 Customer Loyalty Credit will be automatically applied to the following individuals:

  • Members of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation
  • Air North shareholders
  • Air North employees; and
  • Customers who have both redeemed the Stakeholder Dividend in 2017 and travelled with Air North since redeeming

Claim your Customer Loyalty Credit in 3 easy steps:

  1. Log into your Air North Passenger Account using your log in ID and password. If you have not created an account please contact Air North Reservations at 867-668-2228 Ext 1 for assistance to set up a new account.
  2. If you are redeeming for:

    i) Only yourself, select Redeem just for myself

    ii) If you are going to claim the credit on your own profile for your household, select Redeem for more than one person – please note only one credit per person.

    If someone in your household has their own Air North profile, they can claim for themselves; or alternatively, you can combine their credit with the households on your profile.

    If claiming for the household enter each family members:

    - Name
    - Birth date, and
    - The claimant’s relationship to you

    Please note, credit is only available to Air North passengers over the age of 2.
  3. Click: Redeem the $50

    If you are claiming the dividend for your family, please allow 3 – 5 business days for the credit(s) to be applied to your account.

    If you are calling into the call center, please expect longer than usual wait times to speak to an agent.

    - Credit is available for redemption from Wednesday, April 11 – Wednesday, April 25, 2018

    - Credit must be applied to a booking by January 31, 2019

    - 2018 Customer Loyalty Credit cannot be used in combination with previous dividend credits
