Boeing 737

  • Carry-on: Two pieces: One Carry-on bag and One Personal item. The carry-on has a maximum combined weight of 10kg (22lbs) and a maximum size of 9 inches wide by 15 inches high by 21 inches long, with the personal item 6 inches wide by 16 inches high by 13 inches long as the maximum size
  • Checked: Two pieces permitted, with a maximum combined weight of 45kg (100lbs), with no single item exceeding 23kg (50lbs)
  • Excess Baggage: $30 + GST/PST/HST per piece to a maximum of two pieces ($31.50 GST, $33.60 PST, $33.90 HST). If the combined weight of all regular and excess pieces is heavier than 45kg (100lbs), the greater of excess pieces or overweight baggage fees (see below) will apply.

  • Excess Baggage: Per piece charge not applicable. Excess baggage charged by weight only.

Note: Overweight baggage and excess pieces are not guaranteed to travel on the same flight as the passenger due to space and weight limitations, and will be shipped on the next flight based on availability. Passengers wishing to guarantee overweight baggage or excess pieces should contact Air North Cargo for priority freight.

Any single item in excess of 32kg (70lbs) must be shipped as cargo, and cargo rates will apply

The guardian at the point of departure will be required to fill out forms requiring information including the name, telephone number, and address of the guardians at the point of departure and arrival. The guardian picking up the child must show identification which matches this information in order to prove that they are the designated guardian.

If you’re having difficulties checking-in online, make sure that you’ve properly filled out the information required such as your booking confirmation number and spelling of first and last names. If you’ve double checked all the fields and are still experiencing problems, our call centre can help you through the process. 

A valid government-issued photo ID must be presented during boarding at the gate and the name on the ID must match the name on the boarding pass. Transport Canada requires every guest 18 years of age and older to present original identification to board a domestic flight. Photocopies are NOT accepted.

 

Adults 18 years of age or older

One piece of valid (not expired) government-issued1 photo ID that includes name, date of birth and gender. Example: passport; driver’s license

OR

Two pieces of valid (not expired) government-issued2 non-photo ID (one of which must show name, date of birth and gender). The names on the two pieces of ID must match. If the last names do not match due to a name change, the guest must present a marriage certificate or legal change of name certificate to verify the change. Examples: birth certificate; non-photo driver’s license.

Expired ID and/or accreditation documents will not be accepted for travel.

 

Infants (under two years of age)

Proof of age required* (a photocopy is acceptable)

*If you do not have proof of age, you will be required to purchase a seat for your child. The purchase price for the seat will be fully refunded if proof of age is provided to Air North within 7 days of the flight having been completed.

 

Children

All children must be accompanied by an adult on Air North operated flights until they reach their twelfth birthday unless they travel as an unaccompanied minor. We strongly recommend that all children travel with one piece of government-issued identification.

 

Children travelling with one parent

Consult Travel.gc.ca for information on child custody, consent letters and other documentation as additional information may be required if you are planning onward travel to the U.S. or another country.

 

Children travelling alone (12 to 17 years of age)

Your child may be denied boarding if they appear to be less than 12 years of age and are not able to present proof of age.

 

Children travelling as an unaccompanied minor 

A photocopy (not the original) of your child's government-issued identification showing their name, gender and date of birth must be presented and sent with your child.

Each parent/guardian that is picking up or dropping off a child must also have government-issued identification.
