Whitehorse/Yellowknife/Ottawa Route Service Advisory

WHITEHORSE, YUKON - November 19, 2018 - Air North, Yukon's Airline reduces Ottawa schedule during certain non-peak periods.

After much consideration, Air North, Yukon's Airline has decided to reduce the frequency of regularly scheduled service between Whitehorse/Yellowknife/Ottawa during certain non-peak travel periods. Following the existing January 2019 flights, the route will resume for summer service starting 15 June, 2019 until 01 September, 2019. Additional flights may be added outside of our current schedule to support travel both to and from the Yellowknife and Ottawa regions.

"Rising costs, most notably fuel, have caused us to re-evaluate the viability of our Ottawa service during periods of low demand. Starting in early January, after the Christmas and New Year period, we will reduce our capacity during periods when our loads are likely to be very poor. By doing this we will avoid operating flights which are not likely to meet their direct operating costs. This will allow us to continue to provide affordable service during high demand periods. At this time our summer schedule is loaded and flights are available for booking." – Joseph T. Sparling, President and CEO.

Current 2018 Aurora Horizon Air Pass holders will be granted an automatic extension until 01 September, 2019. In addition, any Aurora Horizon Air Passes with all segments remaining have the option for refund by calling Air North Reservations at 1-800-661-0407 Ext. 1 or email reservations@flyairnorth.com
